| Description | α-Synuclein is a major component of Parkinson’s disease aggregates and is implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. α-Synuclein accumulates in the brains of sporadic Parkinson’s disease patients as a major component of Lewy bodies, which are intra-neuronal cytoplasmic inclusions characteristic of Parkinson’s disease. α-Synuclein appears to associate with other proteins that aggregate and is found in β-amyloid plaques and neuritic tangles in Alzheinmer’s disease. Recombinant α-Synuclein is expressed in E. coli strain and purified by column chromatography. Recombinant protein corresponding to human Alpha Synuclein, expressed in Transformed E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~15kD Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
