Description As a member of B7 family, B7-H4 (VTCN1) plays a critical role in the regulation of antigen-specific immune responses. B7-H4 is a co-stimulatory protein expressed in activated T cells and is involved in the negative regulation of cell-mediated immunity in peripheral tissues. B7-H4 ligation to its receptor BTLA T-lymphocytes results in inhibition of T-cell activation, cytokine secretion, and the development of cytotoxicity. B7-H4 protein is typically expressed on the surface of activated T-cells, B-cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells, but not in most normal tissues. In tissues, B7-H4 is over expressed in breast, endometrial, ovarian, renal cell (RCC), and non-small cell lung carcinomas (NSCLC).B7-H4 has been identified as an important cancer marker for breast and ovarian cancers. Description: C-SKGKGNANLEYK, from the internal region of human B7-H4. Control peptide corresponding to polyclonal antibody, Catalog#B0000-35A, goat x human. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
