| Description | Thioredoxin (Trx) is a low molecular weight redox protein. Trx contains a redox active disulfide/dithiol group within the conserved Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys active site. It is involved in the first unique step in DNA synthesis. Trx also provides control over a number of transcription factors affecting cell proliferation and death through a mechanism referred to as redox regulation. It has also recently been found to play a role in cell-to-cell communication. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa2-109 from E. coli Thioredoxin 1, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~12.9kD (119aa, aa2-109 NT + His Tag) Biological Activity: Specific activity is 16-18 A650/min/mg, obtained by measuring the increase of insulin precipitation in absorbance at 650nm resulting from the reduction of insulin. AA Sequence: MHHHHHHMGS DKIIHLTDDS FDTDVLKADG AILVDFWAEW CGPCKMIAPI LDEIADEYQG KLTVAKLNID QNPGTAPKYG IRGIPTLLLF KNGEVAATKV GALSKGQLKE FLDANLAGS Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
