| Description | TLR3, also known as toll-like receptor 3, is a member of the toll-like receptor family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. It is innate immune receptors for sensing microbial molecules and damage-associated molecular patterns released from host cells. It recognizes dsRNA and activation of the receptor induces the activation of NF-kappaB and the production of type I interferons (IFNs). Its signaling activation is associated with ischemic preconditioning-induced protection against brain ischemia and attenuation of reactive astrogliosis. It is most abundantly expressed in placenta and pancreas, and is restricted to the dendritic subpopulation of the leukocytes. Recombinant human TLR3, fused to His-Tag at C- terminal, expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
