| Description | Hla is produced by S. aureus and is a major cytotoxic agent. It is expressed as a monomer that binds to the membrane of susceptible cells. Subunits then oligomerize to form heptameric rings with a central pore through which cellular contents leak. The mode of action of S. aureus Hla is likely by osmotic lysis. Staphylococcus aureus alpha hemolysin (Hla), also known as alpha toxin (alpha-toxin), is expressed in E. coli as a recombinant protein without TAG. Molecular Weight: ~33kD Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Cytotoxicity assay. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Endotoxin: ~10EU/mg Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | ||
