| Description | BST2, also known as bone marrow stromal antigen 2, is involved in the growth and development of B-cells. BST2 is a human cellular protein which inhibits retrovirus infection by preventing the diffusion of virus particles after budding from infected cells. Initially discovered as an inhibitor to HIV-1 infection in the absence of Vpu, tetherin has also been shown to inhibit the release of other viruses such as the Lassa and Marburg virions. Also, this protein may play a role in B-cell activation in rheumatoid arthritis. Purified by using conventional chromatography. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa50-161 of human BST2, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E.coli. AA Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MSEACRDGLR AVMECRNVTH LLQQELTEAQ KGFQDVEAQA ATCNHTVMAL MASLDAEKAQ GQKKVEELEG EITTLNHKLQ DASAEVERLR RENQVLSVRI ADKKYYPSSQ DSS Molecular Weight: ~14.8kD (133aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | ||
