Description ATXN3 was known as spinocerebellar ataxia-3, is an autosomal dominant neurologic disorder. The protein contains (CAG)n repeats in the coding region, and the expansion of these repeats from the normal 13-36 to 68-79 is one cause of Machado-Joseph disease. There is a negative correlation between the age of onset and CAG repeat numbers. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa2-362 from human ATX3, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~42.1kD Applications: Suitable for for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
