Description The gene encoding this protein belongs to the homeobox family of genes. The homeobox genes encode a highly conserved family of transcription factors that play an important role in morphogenesis in all multicellular organisms. Mammals possess four similar homeobox gene clusters, HOXA, HOXB, HOXC and HOXD, located on different chromosomes, consisting of 9 to 11 genes arranged in tandem. The gene encoding this protein is one of several homeobox HOXC genes located in a cluster on chromosome 12. The product of this gene binds to a promoter element of the lactase-phlorizin hydrolase. It also may play a role in early intestinal development. Species: Homo sapiens Source: E. coli Primary Sequence (aa): 304 Domain (aa): Full-length Tag/Fusion Partner: T7 Tag Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA as an Antigen, Ligand, or Assay Standard. Other applications not tested. Quality Control: SDS-PAGE Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. Important note: This recombinant enzyme has NOT been tested with regard to biological activity.
