Description Notch signaling pathway regulates many different cell fate decisions in both vertebrate and invertebrate species. There are 5 canonical Notch ligands in mammals: Jagged-1, Jagged-2, DLL1, DLL3 and DLL4. These can bind to the four Notch receptors Notch 1-4. It is important for pattern formation during development such as neurogenesis, angiogenesis or myogenesis and regulates T cell development and stem cell maintenance. Notch signaling is also involved in cellular processes through-out adulthood. Signaling via Notch occurs between neighbouring cells and both the receptor and its ligands are transmembrane proteins. Sequence: The extracellular domain of mouse Notch1 (aa19-488) (12 epidermal growth factor-like (EGF) repeats) is fused at the C-terminus to the Fc portion of human IgG1, expressed in CHO cells. Molecular Weight: ~85kD (SDS-PAGE) Endotoxin: <0.1EU/ug (LAL test; Lonza). Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
